Helpful "tips" for your kitchen.....

Happy Sunday to all of you!

I thought it might be helpful if I could take the next several blogs of mine and dedicate them to safer and healthier tips/ideas for the home.  So what I'm going to do is take the home room by room and share, so let's start with the .......

Kitchen
  1. Dishwasher:   make sure you take a close look at the ingredients on your dishwashing detergent.   Most of the time these are full of things like "chlorine", "phosphates", "borates", "nitrates"....basically a LOT of bad stuff.   Remember the minute you open the dishwasher you have allowed all of these bad chemicals to form a "cloud" in your home and remain in the air.   If you are seeking a safer alternative that is concentrated so you don't need to use as much and is much safer without all the chemicals come check out this product.
  2. Sink:   another important spot in the kitchen that is bombarded with toxic chemicals especially on cleaning day.   For example, ajax, comet, soft scrub.   Have any of you ever read the ingredients on these products??   Holy macro!!!   Scary ingredients people and you again wonder why people will get massive headaches if this stuff is inhaled.   I have run into many people that have even received "acid burns" from these cleaning agents so if you use them please BE CAREFUL!   My encouragement is to get WAY far away from them and again come check this product out as a replacement.   Ever need to wash those dishes that are too delicate for the dishwasher?   Another safe alternative is available without all the toxic remains!    And lastly if those hands after constantly being in water are in need of a nice soap that is green and non-toxic look here.
  3. Stovetop/Oven:   ever get the burned on food mess that just won't come clean?    Here is the best agent and with just a little bit of water on your cloth I guarantee you won't have anymore mess.   The greatest thing about this product is it is non-abrasive and green as well!
I hope all of you have appreciated knowing some safer alternatives for the kitchen and next time we will move into the bathroom.

Thanks for letting me share.........

Gum....

Have any of you realized or is it just me that there isn't gum out there anymore that has just sugar in it?   The other day my girlfriend, my son, and I were at a gas station and my son comes up to me and asks for gum, so we head over to the gum aisle and I was completely "blown" away as to how many gums that have artificial sweetners in them.    Granted I have realized this before but the part that blew me away was how many have the "yuck" in them in comparison to those that don't!!!!   Amazing!    The other really sad part of this story is can you guess where the sugared gum was located?   Way at the other end of the aisle (pretty much as far away as possible)!

So you might be thinking why is she discussing this, well here again is my thought for the day:  I think we are slowly being poisoned!     Now you might be thinking to yourself...."Wow this lady has really gone off the deep end", but in all honesty if you think about what we are being exposed to on a daily basis you might see my point.    From our cleaners in our homes (if we aren't using non-toxic or green), to our food that has so much bad processing (dyes, bleaching, artificial sweetners, hydrogenated oils, etc), to the bad air that we breathe I feel very strongly that we need to take control of what we allow in our homes.   How do you feel about this?

If you are seeking a brand of gum that is better for you and your family I encourage you to take a look at "Spry" gum on the web or call them toll-free at: (877)599-5327.   This is a xylitol based gum that is good for your  teeth and not harmful to the body.

Our homes....

Have any of you ever asked yourself this question: Is my home healthy?

I know this may sound really funny but the truth of it is that many homes are very unhealthy and are causing a lot of problems for the humans that are residing in them.   I often wonder if we never introduced plastics and many of the other terrible chemicals in this country what our world would be like.   Please don't misunderstand me but with all the diseases and childhood illnesses and malnutrition that we are facing in this country it really makes you wonder.   So can we conclude that our environment that we are living in is pretty much poisoining us?    Not quite sure but it is a deep thought in the back of my mind!

So not only are we as humans being bombarded by off gasing from our carpets due to glues etc., but what about the detergents we clean our clothes with,  the bathroom cleaners that we spray our tile with, the chlorine that fills our homes like a cloud when we wash our dishes, the floor cleaners that smell so fantastic yet are filled with so many chemicals, the horrific mirror and glass cleaners that are filled with so much ammonia and so much more!   YIKES!

So now back to our children, do you honestly ever wonder why SO many kiddos are being diagnosed with this type of cancer or this type of illness?   I do!!!   I firmly believe that our kids are so overtaken with so much pollution and air-borne stimulants that their bodies can't get rid of the irritants so they get stored or converted in their bodies to "free" radicals.   We have to remember that when we get a headache from cleaning the bathroom from whatever cleaner we are using and have to leave cause it is SO bad just think of what are children's bodies are going through.

If there is one thing that I would LOVE for my readers to think about in regards to their homes is: "How can I make my home healthy and happy for those living in it?"

Thanks for coming.....

Hi Everybody~

My name is Amber and the reason for my blog is to simply share with all of you some of the health tips and ideas that I have learned over the years in hopes that it will make your home and life a happy one!

First of all, here's a little bit about me and my life: I have been happily married for over 10 years now to my best friend, Eric, and I am also the proud and happy mom of 3 little ones: Austin (6 1/2), Ellie (4 1/2), and Abby (1 1/2). These 4 people bring the greatest "joy" to my life and I am so thankful for my family!

The other fun part of my life that I take pride in is my business. About 12 years ago I decided to become a Shaklee Independent Distributor and have been doing it ever since. I have always worked my home based business around my kiddos and their lives and this was the main reason "why" I wanted something of my own. I wanted to surround my kids with "safe" cleaners along with giving them quality supplements that would help to enhance their lives!

Thanks again for coming to visit my blog and if you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to comment or email me at: abernhardt@earthlink.net.

Here's to our health, our home and all of our happinesses...........
